• Holy Week and Easter Services; prayer for the Princess of Wales; revised Still by the Cross time and poster

I hope you are well and feeling ready for Holy Week.
Helen and I were very moved by the Princess of Wales’s message about her cancer diagnosis and I feel sure that others will also wish to keep her and her family in prayer. There is a Church of England prayer at the end of this message that you are welcome to use. We continue to pray for the treatment and recovery of King Charles, and in the spirit of Princess Catherine’s message, for all who have cancer at this time.
Holy Week begins tomorrow as we gather with the Group at Yelverton for Palm Sunday Communion at 10am, with an optional procession with palms from Alpington School at 9.45am. In the service we will share in the reading of Mark’s passion gospel and receive palm crosses.
Night Prayer with reflections for Holy Week is at 8pm, Monday to Wednesday on Zoom. Here is your invitation for all of the services

Maundy Thursday Communion with Hand Washing at Claxton, 10am (28th), commemorates the Last Supper.

The Good Friday Family Service at Surlingham, 10am (29th), is a retelling of the story of the day in words, hymns and using objects and symbols. Still by the Cross is at 2pm, as it appears in Eleven Says. I’ve attached a new poster to replace the one with the incorrect time – my apologies.

On Easter Eve (30th) we’re joined by our friends from the Group at Rockland for The Lighting of the New Fire and Communion at 7.30pm.

On Easter Sunday we will celebrate the hope and wonder of Jesus’ resurrection at the 6am Sunrise Service on Rockland Staithe, Communion at Bramerton 9.30am, Claxton 9.30am,and Kirby Bedon 11am. We conclude our day of worship with Easter Hymns and Readings at Surlingham, 3.30pm.

Wish you a good and blessed Holy Week and Easter,

    Nick

In February the Monitor was on The Warren facing north towards Rockland and Norwich.  The table below covers the whole month.
