Claxton Spring Fling – Sunday 28th April

Drama Workshop, Bramerton – Thursday 25th April 2024
There will be a free acting workshop at Bramerton village hall on April 25th 7.30pm.
No previous acting experience is necessary but if you have done some acting before, that’s great. The evening will include a variety of drama exercises leading to a short, simple production and you can take part in as little or much as you feel comfortable with.
All adults and young people from year 10 and upwards will be very welcome.

This Week’s Service and events (April 14th-22nd)
I hope your Easter season has begun well. May I offer huge thanks to everyone who contributed s generously to the Lent Appeal through Warm Welcome and the Group Lent course. £663.55 was raised, which equates to one and two thirds of a water tank for the students and their families at Newton Theological College in Papua New Guinea!
This Sunday (April 14th) sees the Easter Cafe Church at Rockland Parish Room: ‘He is Risen’ between 10.30am and 12 Noon. There’s also 11am Communion at Surlingham and 4pm Evensong at Bramerton. British Summertime heralds the return of this much loved, traditional afternoon service.
On Wednesday (17th) Art Cafe in the Barn opens its doors from 10.30am to 12.15pm for friendly chat, refreshments and some Spring/Easter art!
The following Sunday (21st) sees 9.30am Communion at Claxton and 11am Communion at Kirby Bedon. At 4pm Still on the Road gives us space to contemplate and respond to some of Jesus’ most significant resurrection appearances. Still meets in the Barn between 4pm and 5.30pm.

Warm Welcome at the Barn (April 22nd) begins its monthly Summer programme between 11am and 2.30pm. All welcome!Celtic Prayer is on Tuesday (23rd) at 10am, for quiet reflection in Surlingham Church porch.Easter Greetings,

Traffic in the Village – March update
Good news. We have had the Speed Monitor for the past 15 months, but this morning it was transferred to Langley with Hardley where it will deploy for the next three months, coming back to Claxton on 1 July.
In March the Monitor was outside the Village Hall facing south towards Langley, Loddon etc. This is what it recorded:
