We are given to understand that for 4 successive weekends the main A146 will be completely closed allowing for road marking, signage etc to be completed.  These closures will be from Friday evening at 8pm through to Monday morning at 5am on the following weekends:

• 18-21 March
• 25-28 March
• 1-4 April
• 8-11 April.

In each case the closure will run from the junction with Norwich Road (to the North) and the junction with High Bungay Road (to the South).

Traffic will most likely be diverted through Chedgrave and Loddon and there is likely to be major disruption throughout these periods.  Alternative routes include the B1332 through Poringland down to Bungay, but whichever way you look at it, roads are going to be very busy until Easter.

We further understand – though this has yet to be confirmed – that the road through Chedgrave and Loddon (Bridge Street then High Street and Beccles Road/High Bungay Road) is due to close for a period for urgent resurfacing.  Whether this work follows immediately after the A146 works or after a gap of some sort is also unknown at this time.  More news will be posted on this website when we have it.
