Working with the local community, schools and community groups this Council-run initiative helps reduce litter and improves the appearance of the district, ensuring that South Norfolk remains one of the best places in the country to live, work and visit.
Last year a record total of 82 litter picks took place involving over 900 residents from across the district and nearly 2,000 bags of rubbish and recycling were collected and this year we are hoping to do even better.
From 1st February to the end of May, any parish, community group or not-for-profit organisation that registers and completes a litter pick will receive £20 for their local community and will be placed in a draw to win one of 20 prizes of £200 for use in their community!
Claxton Parish Council has already registered its interest and will look after all the arrangements for a litter-pick in February. We just need to know if you are interested in helping. Please let the Clerk, Mike Balmer, know on 01508 484162 or by e-mail at mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org and he will ensure you are contacted when a date has been agreed. All necessary clothing and equipment will be provided. You just need to turn up.
