• South Norfolk Council Corporate Plan 2016-20

Today the District Council launched its interactive 2016-20 South Norfolk Corporate Plan which sets out the direction of travel over the next five years and outlines their vision for South Norfolk, corporate priorities and key activities.

The plan is designed to be accessible to residents and partners and has been designed as an interactive, web-based document, encouraging users to view the plan online, acting as a gateway to additional information and content.

The Corporate Plan has been reviewed by Scrutiny and was recommended by Cabinet and Council in December.

The plan has now been published on our website, and you can view it by following this link: http://www.south-norfolk.gov.uk/democracy/1289.asp.

If you have any further queries or comments about the Corporate Plan, please contact Hannah Ralph (Strategy and Corporate Development Officer) by emailing [email protected].

  • New Letter to Richard Bacon MP about rural broadband

At its meeting on 13 January the Parish Council agreed a proposal for a fresh letter to our Member of Parliament, Richard Bacon, to draw his attention to the village’s position on broadband, and its disappointment that the “alternative solution” for Claxton will end up being considerably more expensive than traditional solutions.  This puts rural locations such as Claxton at a major disadvantage compared to those urban and rural locations (including neighbouring Loddon and Chedgrave) which are enjoying the benefits of super-fast broadband through fibre-optic connections at much lower costs than for satellite broadband.  The Clerk wrote to Mr Bacon on 19 January and his letter appears below.  It has been acknowledged by Mr Bacon’s office.
