1 Response to New Planning Application 2015/2802 – REFUSED

  1. Geoffrey Mitchell says:

I wish to support this application as a resident of Church Lane Claxton since 1962.I also support it as a retired architect with extensive experience in the conservation of grade 1 and 2 listed buildings. Undoubtedly Durrant.s Barn has historic interest which has gone unnoticed until the research undertaken in support of this application. This is hardly surprising as the building is of no architectural distinction. However its history has now been revealed and in my opinion represents interesting military features of the first world war. In countries such as Australia, less richly endowed with buildings of historic and architectural interest this building would be listed. Incidentally, my wife and I remember Billie Durrant well and other old characters who dwelt in Church Lane but have long since departed this world.
